About Us
Our building has a rich history, originally serving as a Methodist chapel. In 1965, this historic structure was acquired by the residents of Elland, who utilized a government grant to fund the purchase. This acquisition marked the beginning of a new chapter for the chapel, integrating it more closely into the fabric of the local community.
Fast forward to 2022, the building received a significant boost when it was awarded £1.6 million from the Future High Streets Fund. This substantial investment was aimed at revitalizing the area and enhancing the community’s infrastructure. The funds were utilized for extensive renovations and upgrades, ensuring the building could meet the evolving needs of Elland’s residents.
In 2024, these efforts culminated in the establishment of The Elland Community Hub. This transformation marked the official opening of a space dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of the people of Elland and its surrounding areas. The Hub now serves as a central location for various community activities, support services, and events, fostering a sense of unity and providing essential resources to improve the quality of life for all who live in the area.
